Bio-diversity competition for students

20 March, 2022 - 30 June, 2022

In his "Sentimental Cosmogony" (1949-1959), Charles Corm describes in a masterful way the fauna and flora on our planet. 11 to 18 year old students from across the country are invited to illustrate some of these poems in the media of their choice.

In his "Sentimental Cosmogony" (1949-1959), Charles Corm wrote over one hundred poems on the fauna and flora of our planet, describing particular species and plants and often their inter-action with their environment. When you think of it, his poems talked about bio-diversity long before the term was coined in the 1980s.
Showing an incredible curiosity towards nature and an impressive knowledge of the natural world, Corm manages to impart scientific facts through terrifically lively verse. No easy feat!
To help visualize the world of caterpillars, ferns, wolves, ants and so on, the Charles Corm Foundation would like to invite students to illustrate a selection of chosen poems in the media of their choice.
In partnership with the French Agency for the Learning of French abroad (AEFE), a competition is open to every student interested in the challenge. The winners, by age category, will be announced on Earth day in June 2022.
Later in the the year, an exhibition comprising all the entries will be held at the Charles Corm house in Beirut.
